RLAF - Reverse Laminar Air Flow

The Reverse Laminar Air Flow (RLAF) System, commonly referred to as a Sampling or Dispensing Booth, is engineered to create a controlled and contamination-free environment during material handling operations.

It is specifically designed to capture and contain airborne particles generated during the handling of powders or liquids, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination and ensuring a safe working area for operators.

The system maintains a uniform and directional airflow pattern, which effectively restricts the spread of dust within the working zone. This controlled airflow environment makes the RLAF system highly suitable for use in pharmaceutical, biotech, and cleanroom applications where product integrity and operator safety are critical.

Features

  • Efficient Dust Control System: Engineered to capture and contain airborne particulates during sampling and dispensing processes, ensuring a controlled and hygienic working environment.
  • Multi-Level Filtration Mechanism: Integrated with a three-stage filtration system including pre-filter, fine filter, and HEPA filter to ensure superior air cleanliness and consistent performance.
  • Negative Pressure Design: Maintains controlled negative pressure within the unit to effectively restrict the spread of dust and fine particles into the external environment.
  • Enhanced Operator & Product Safety: Designed to safeguard both personnel and materials by directing airflow efficiently and minimizing cross-contamination risks.
  • Flexible & Space-Optimized Design: Available in multiple configurations and sizes, allowing seamless integration into various operational setups and facility layouts.
  • GMP-Oriented Construction: Manufactured in compliance with GMP standards, making it ideal for pharmaceutical, biotech, and cleanroom applications.

Working Principle

The Reverse Laminar Air Flow (RLAF) system functions on the principle of controlled reverse airflow integrated with negative pressure to ensure effective containment of airborne contaminants.

During operation, dust and particulate matter generated in processes such as sampling or dispensing are immediately drawn away from the operator into the filtration system. The air passes sequentially through multiple filtration stages—starting with pre-filters that capture coarse particles, followed by intermediate filters for finer particulates, and finally through high-efficiency HEPA filters that remove microscopic contaminants.

The purified air is then recirculated within the enclosure in a controlled and uniform airflow pattern. This directional airflow ensures that airborne particles remain contained within the system, preventing their escape into the surrounding environment.

This integrated process provides a safe and controlled working zone, offering reliable protection for the operator, the product, and the external environment.
